OPEN CALL - Special Competition
Faces of Love II
For the publication
“Universal Symphony III – Love Heals”
by Prof. Dr. Yelda Özsunar
We are pleased to announce a Special Competition: “Faces of Love II”, created for the upcoming book publication “Universelle Symphonie III – Liebe heilt” (German edition of Universal Symphony III – Love Heals), a popular medical and interdisciplinary work by Prof. Dr. Yelda Özsunar.
Following the successful publication of the English edition Universal Symphony III – Love Heals, realized in collaboration with the artists of Poetry of Science and Art, a dedicated Special Edition for the German language edition is now being planned. This new edition continues the dialogue between science and art, opening space once again for visual interpretations of love as a healing force.
This book explores 21 aspects of love and their profound influence on human health, well-being, and healing, combining scientific insight, poetry, stories, and artistic expression into a unified work.
Selected artworks will be featured:
– on the book cover ( 1. Prize)
– and for each of the 21 chapters,
visually interpreting one specific aspect of love.(21 Chapter Awards)
In addition, all selected artists will be presented at the end of the book with a short biography of up to 80 words, including their contact email and links to their portfolio or social media channels.

About the Book
Universal Symphony III – Love Heals
is a unique interdisciplinary publication by
Prof. Dr. Yelda Özsunar
that unites medicine, neuroscience, psychology, poetry, storytelling, music, and visual art.
The book explores 21 different aspects of love and their influence on human health, emotional balance, and healing processes. Scientific and popular medical insights are interwoven with the author’s original poems and short stories, many of which are accompanied by music specifically composed for this book project.
Art is an essential part of this concept: visual artworks serve as emotional and symbolic gateways into each chapter, translating scientific and poetic content into a universal visual language. In this way, the book creates a holistic experience that speaks not only to the intellect, but also to the senses and the soul.
The inclusion of visual art in a medical context reflects the book’s core philosophy: healing is
multidimensional, and love expresses itself through science, art, sound, and story alike.
